Who has been affected by the RTD strike?
#2
Is it really that large of an impact here?
I know there are lots of people that depend on RTD, but no where near NYC subway or any major city that really has mass transit.
RTD just seems so limited here. You have to drive to get to any light rail or take 15 buses to get where you want to go.
I will love it when you can get anywhere easy with it.

depends on where you are - I've lived within 2 miles of a park-n-ride for the past 4 years
And now I live within walking distance to an express stop (NOT running today because of the strike).
They really need to
1) stop being on strike
2) expand the routes and schedules. The 'L' bus I catch from my house stops running at 20:30 and is very limited in times - even at peak hours.

Wanna carpool to downtown Charles?
I'll even drive. It's win-win for both of us...You get a free ride downtown, and I get to take the HOV to downtown.
What's your schedule like?

They aren't very cost effective either, for a regional rider
For example, a round trip on a regional bus costs $7.50 a day ($3.75 one-way)! OUCH. My Integra gets 32-34mpg. The office is 27miles away. At @ $2.50/gallon for 85 octane, it's WAY cheaper to drive the car. Even without taking the HOV, it's still faster to drive too.
Even with a $34 10-ride pre-purchase book, at $3.40 a ride, it's still not cheaper.
I still take it though, since I like to bike to the Park-n-Ride in the cool mornings. I'll bet logic like this really bugs a financial planner, eh Cole?
