How to break a new timing belt, long and sad: grab tissues or jaegermeister!

Sorry to hear. But does say a lot about using Audi parts for the longer warranty
rather than aftermarket parts. For me, like my last 2 Audis, it'll be the dealer for the belt replacement, even if a few $$ more.

Wow that is a real bummer, if you were close you could borrow my truck:) or
my father-in-law's '96 Accord...kept just to be driven "in case" someones' (usually me) car doesn't go...keep us informed on the outcome and glad they are doing the right thing.

Curious how many valves were damaged. Should only be one piston kiss at that slow speed...
Let me know what your Indy says. Sounds like he an incredible person more than and incredible Indy shop. Good for him for sticking up for you. This is the way business should be done! Tell him another ar owner in Charleston, SC wishes he could bring his ar to your Indy guy for service.
Curiosity.

Rats !! Did your Indy use OEM or AM parts when they replaced the T-Belt? It really sucks! Big time!!
It is always difficult to make a judgment call for the extra $$ spend on OEM parts since (German) AM parts are usually up to par regarding quality etc pp.
Let's hope the complain goes thru and this repair wont rape your wallet, best of Luck !!!
