Open sky install
This forum is a bit quiet, so I thought I would post a bunch of pics from my open sky install that I did on my A2.

Wow nice project! :)
Open Sky is an absolute must on a A2.. Very nice during summertime!
Rims looks nice, but how's your back? :P
Yours is pre-facelift, so with a stiffer suspension than mine, and with huge wheels! Mine has the more softer suspension and OEM 15" wheels.. and that is already very stiff from my point of view.

Re: Wow nice project! :)
My back is just fine. The car is lowered 20 mm with Eibach springs and the rims are 8,5x18" with 215/35ZR18" tires on. It is a bit stiff, but the handling is VERY nice in it!

Holy crap. That's impressive.
Did the car lose any structural rigidity after that? Or, I guess another way of saying that is, does the car feel looser than before? In any event, that's a helluva project. Congrats, and nice work

It's as stiff as ever... :)
The installation is done 100% with the original parts and done in the same way as they would do in the factory, so it didn't lose any of the stiffnes at all.
It is very cool in the summertime with the open sky. First of all it feels very comfortable to get the air in and second of all it looks great with the two roof parts over the back of the roof when it is open.

Re: Nice job! Please tell me though,
What front grill?
The A2 is different than all other audis. The shiny black thing on the front actually pops out when you pull a little handle inside the car. It gives you service access to topping up fluids and checking the oil. The bonnet cannot be opened on it. If you want access to the engine you need to take the bonnet off completely by flipping 2 quick releases behind the service hatch.
I love my A2! - It's the most reliable car I have ever owned. Actually I just bought one more which would make it the 3rd of it's kind...

Learned something today! Why do some look like normal fins and
some smooth? Any pics of this opened up?
We don't get these in the states, like so many things you all have access to when it comes to autos.
Thanks for the info!

Early A2's had the smooth grills, after MY '04 have the fins..
<center><img src="http://www.autoweek.nl/images/Articles/29/a22.jpg"></center><p>
The reason supposed to be that the smooth ones scratch easily.
However, I think it's just a attempt to make it look different for the new MY. Function is just the same, the fins don't have any funtionality.
I've attaced a (bad) pic of the grill opened-up.
Few pics of my grill..
