Default Audi Connect Information

Official release.

Voice-activated Google Earth™ 3D Graphics (first-to-market)
The MMI® Navigation Plus can now be used with Google Earth™. With the 3D graphics of Google Earth overlaid on a map, a true aerial view of your route becomes your guide and your journey comes alive with 3D models of buildings, terrain and topography for a dynamic driving experience where you navigate streets like never before.

Google™ Local search

The Local search option from Google™ allows you to retrieve detailed information about travel destinations, such as restaurant or hotel hours, pricing and customer reviews based on data at Google. On the map display, your current location appears along with icons indicating nearby attractions which can be selected for more information and as your destination.

Google™ Voice Local Search

Navigating hands-free is as easy as 1-2-3 with the "Push to Talk" button on your steering wheel. Once activated, a menu prompts you to say the keyword or exact name of your destination. Results are displayed in a list for easy scrolling or on a map showing proximity to your current location. Select to activate route guidance.
SIRIUS Traffic™ overlaid onto Google Earth™
Real-time traffic information from SIRIUS is combined with Google Earth imagery for a clear, color-coded overview of local congestion to warn you of traffic situations and help plan your route.

Real-time Information

Audi Connect enhances the current capabilities of the MMI unit with several features new to the Audi brand including, Real-time localized Travel and Weather information, Real-time News feeds from varied News sources, and Real-time localized fuel updates detailing local gas station brands, pricing, and proximity to vehicle. The driver can set preferences for current location, destination location, or any other location desired.

myAudi Destinations

The myAudi Destination feature allows registered users to log on to Google MapsTM from any location and download destinations to the vehicle. Up to 50 destinations can be stored in the customer’s myAudi account, and can be used at any time in the MMI® navigation plus system.

Rolling WiFi® Hotspot (first-to-market as Factory-installed option)
Audi Connect is also able to turn the vehicle into a secure Wi-Fi hotspot, allowing vehicle passengers to retrieve information on the internet conveniently and securely. Up to eight WiFi-enabled devices can simultaneously use the wireless connectivity

Tim,

Could you determine if Audi is letting the U.S. market have the "Comfort" front seats with the massage and seat ventilation functions (massage functions are controlled through the MMI)--option code is 4D8. This is an option in European A7's. I've not seen any mention of it being available here.

Also, I'd be curious to know if Audi is "allowing" us to choose the following items for U.S. vehicles:

1. Tilt/Slide Sunroof (3FE)
2. Power door closure (GZ2)
3. Chrome exhaust tips (OP2)
4. Active Lane Assist (PCB)
5. LED headlights including Adaptive Light and High-Beam Assist (PX2)
6. Park Assist (7X5)
7. Ambient interior lighting (QQ2)
8. Manual blind for rear window (3Y6)
9. Head-up display (8RY)

The option codes are from the UK's 50 page A7 brochure.

This will give me a much better idea of whether or not I order an A7 now, wait, or go elsewhere.

Thanks!

I posted in a different thread. This will help. You will have to go to Prestige in order to get the comfort seats.

Design and Innovation Icon for Audi’s C and D Segments

The all-new Audi A7 is a design icon, with innovative technology to match its emotional styling. The A7 combines prestige, sportiness and functionality into a five-door coupe with four seats and a wide-opening tailgate. And with its pioneering concept and elegant design, the A7 establishes an emotional bond that is tremendously alluring to both new and existing Audi customers, and will bring even more attention to Audi’s C and D segment offerings.

In addition to the emotional design, the A7 has a stunning interior, powerful drivetrain, and industry leading driver-assistance innovation. The foundation of the A7 is its Aluminum-hybrid lightweight construction, with aluminum body panels and a steel frame, reducing weight and enhancing handling while saving fuel. The drivetrain of the A7 is a 3.0 liter, V6 supercharged engine, with 310hp. Mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, and standard quattro all-wheel-drive, the A7 will be as thrilling to drive as it is to look at.

Continuing Audi’s leadership in MMI innovation, the A7 will have Audi’s all-new generation of MMI, including the MMI touch handwriting recognition system. The A7 will also have Audi Connect, a driver-oriented system which includes the industry-first Google Earth navigation system, as well as online Point Of Interest searches, Wikipedia Destination Information, weather information and real-time gas prices. Audi is bringing internet to the car in a way that enhances the driving experience.
The A7 will introduce Audi’s first Head Up Display with a high resolution full color display, as well as many innovative technologies which have recently been introduced in Audi’s flagship A8, such as full LED headlights, Night vision assistant, the active safety system Audi pre sense plus, and a stunning Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System. With the A7, Audi is bringing entirely new innovation not previously available in C segment vehicles.

While the A7 is a compelling product, it will also be a compelling value with standard equipment highlights including: quattro all-wheel-drive, 18” wheels with all-season tires, leather interior, Audi drive select, Bluetooth, SIRIUS satellite radio and Xenon plus headlights. And the available equipment such as Audi’s pre sense plus active safety system, Audi Connect, Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System, and full LED headlights place the A7 at the head of the class when it comes to innovation and luxury.

Thanks, Tim.

Looks like a fully loaded Prestige will get some of these options with the exceptions being:

2. Power door closure (GZ2)
3. Chrome exhaust tips (OP2)
6. Park Assist (7X5)
7. Ambient interior lighting (QQ2)
8. Manual blind for rear window (3Y6)

I received your e-mail with attachments but this was information from last fall when Audi came out with the launch variant details.

Do the dealers now have the ordering guides with all of the package and option codes? Do they have a fully detailed 2012 A7 brochure?

Tim, where do you see that the Prestige A7 gives you comfort seats?

All the order guide says is you get ventilated seats with prestige, no massage function
