Default my first bicycle thread

so instead of making a series of threads about this topic i think it will be better to keep it all hear.

started last weekend on my cruiser got the seat tube and head tube cut. mitered the seat tube and welded it to the bottom bracket. end of session one

today made much more progress. cut the seat tube sleeve off of the seat tube to put some funny shapes in to make it look cool then put it right back on. got the down tube bi-ovalized and mitered for the BB. the started on the head tube miter, fvcked it up and got it off center. lots of filling and an hour later the down tube is ready. top tube went pretty straight forward cut tube mitered file a little done.

cleaned everything with acetone and tacked it all up while it was in the jig. took it out and welded up the front triangle. got a warm fuzzy feeling as a goal for almost 5 years is finally well under way. going to order some material for the stays this week and work on the custom drop outs and front end gusset.

i will continue to update and post pictures for those of you that give a shat as progress is made

this is the completed front triangle as it sits currently. you can kind of see some of the shapes i cut into the seat tube collar as well. that it my buddy wade in the background brazing some campy drop outs onto his signature square chain stays.

Default Keep up the good work, and keep posting pics. Takes me back many years, and

of course it was all brazing then.

Default lurk there on occasion

if i had any questions thats where i would go but seeing how i have some rather experienced help, haven't had the need.

do you do any frame building?

the reason for posting this stuff on AWOT is there are a couple of people that have shown interest in the project (mister S and carbonloard)
