Default because they're lemmings.

with no native Adobe applications running natively on Intel-based Macs, someone could rightfully ask the same question today.

Default i lub OSX

and getting adobe apps to run natively is up to adobe, not apple. Photoshop does run noticeably slower on OSX when switching between OSX and Windows on my PC.

My only real mac is a Dual g4 450, and then I have OSX installed on my PC.

Default At that point, it was well-known that Mac OS needed an overhaul. Apple realised in 1996 that

their "Copeland" code wasn't going to ship, so they started looking around. The NeXT merger happened in 1997 and the next OS was planned. Meanwhile, Mac OS 9 was released in 1998-9. Mac OS X 10.0 was released in March, 2001. I started using it the week it came out.

The point of all this, is that I'd hardly make the statement, "[i] can't believe this was the state of macs in 2001"

Default Let's see... you had, what, Windows ME back then?

Or Windows 2000 (for "business professionals"), which cost about 4 times as much as Mac OS?

And yes, it was better than Windows... warts & all.

My point was that Apple (and Mac users) knew that things had to be changed and were changing.

Default now you're getting really defensive

my whole point was that it looks like a huge piece of **** and OSX is a big stepup and windows looked better than os9 then and i can't believe people preferred looking at OS9 to windows. OS9 sux.

I have a mac. I'M YOUR BROTHA.

Default I was about to say this was a dumb, pointless conversation.
