Default I think my dad is losing it.

He has this thing about mechanical things that he only buys stuff he can fix.

So he's got this weed wacker that's about 15 years old. It's broken down about 5 or 6 times since he's had it (he got it for free, used) and had to rebuild EVERYTHING to get it running again. Yesterday he went out to cut the grass, and pulled the cord to start the weed whacker. Nothing. Pulled it again. Nothing. Pulled it for about 10 minutes until he gave up and got ready to pull the whole thing apart AGAIN.

After about an hour of cleaning it and replacing fuel lines, he gave it another shot. Still nothing. At this point I could tell he was getting angry, but I didn't expect anything as theatrical as what's next.

He went to the shed and pulled out all of his outdoor appliances. Lawnmower, chainsaw, hedge trimmer, leaf blower, all gas powered and pull start, and all of which had given him problems in the past. He placed each item around the fire pit in a semi-cirle and emptied the gas from the weed whacker into a coffee can. Once all of the gas was out, he tossed the weed whacker into the fire pit, doused it in it's own "blood" and lit it on fire while all of it's "friends" watched. While all of this was going on, he was glaring at the audience and saying "Don't F&*$ing cross me" and "See what happens when you F&*% up?"

Once the fire was out, he went to each lawn appliance and pulled their cords. Every single one of them started on the first pull. I was crying my eyes out in laughter the whole time, but he was still so determined and hovering over all of them with a fresh can of gas, completely straight faced.

I think it was the drugs from his hippy days.
