Removing 01 A4 ash tray???
Has anybody removed this before, not the little ash tray, but the entire setup and installed something else in its place, I'm thinking of installing a BCS in there, and I'm just curious before I start tearing everything up on some past experiences/instructions....
Thanxs
Mod weekend for me!
BCS, k&n filter w/ stage II air box mod, S4 wheel liner, foglight mod.....

Yeah.. i pulled it about a week ago. (i'm putting an MP3 player there)
your going to need the radio removal tools. you can find these at http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/viewcart.asp
part #120869001. (get two, also, as there are 4 'locks' on the radio)
the climate control unit is a bit of a pain. there are 4 clips, two on top that you can see, and two on the bottom. what i did was to pry the top clips down and place a zip tie between the clip and the bracket. and then took the small screw driver and slid it in on the bottom till i was able to pull one side out, and did to the other side..
once thats down, it will expose 2 10mm bolts on the ashtray, undo those, and pop the cover around the gear shift(i have an auto tranny), and the tray comes right out..
