Default Cool Pics from this weekend....Tripod Rock up in Boonton, NJ

This rock is in Pyramid Mountain park in NJ. It's about a 2 mile hike up to the top where you can see this huge boulder balanced on three smaller rocks. The legend has it that it was deposited there by a glacier. Wierd NJ and others say that it was put there by Indians and that during the summer soltice the sun sets exactly between it and two other nearby rocks. Anyway just thought I'd share......

Default something similar in Harpers Ferry, WV

Shot this on Sunday.

"Thomas Jefferson was personally familiar with Harpers Ferry, having traveled to the site on October 25, 1783. Jefferson stood on this very rock and subsequently penned a memorable description of the view in his "Notes on the State of Virginia." His remarks conclude with the emphatic declaration: "This scene is worth a voyage across the Atlantic."

Default glacier is my guess too

ice melted, perching boulder on the smaller. Btw, any signs of glacial scoring/polish on the surrounding bedrock? Cool to find--gives you a direction of glacier travel.
