768 x 576 versus 720x540 for NTSC square pixel...
also, the frame rate (25 fps) is a lot closer to film than NTSC. With NTSC, you're watching duplicate frames every 6th or so frame. He's going to have major issue trying to watch normal television though. Forget about trying to locate PAL DVD's at the video rental store. If you're talking about conversion hardware and the signal having to be converted, then you're right. |
