Default There are five private S4 race cars in the country (not including Babcock's).

One on the E. Coast (remember Joe Blacker?), I think Don Istook currently has three and owns two of those, then Scott Hartmann's Grand Am car that has been collecting dust for who knows how long... there are really only two competitive ones: Joe's and that one of Don's.

I would be interested in competing in that GTS challenge... as long as the car isn't as handicapped as it is in USTCC.

I don't know about the USTCC, but I know for sure that in GTS Challenge you could compete. We use a weight to power ratio as the main factor in our classification process.

Default Re: "AWD (All Wheel Drive) will bump the car to the next class."

The basis for the class bump is realtime data. The A4 1.8T AWD that races in GTS3 has the power/weight ratio of GTS2 cars but runs at the front of GTS3. Add just the slightest amount of moisture on the track and it runs ahead of the GTS4 and GTSU cars. We can guess and theorize all we want, but there is no real proof that equals track data.
The argument that AWD is offset by the extra weight is silly. If that's the case, then why pay extra $$$$ for the AWD?

Default Re: Help! I'm stuck in Texas!

Jimmy, this is your lucky day!!!! We plan to add Texas to GTS ASAP. All we need is someone to step up and be the GTS Challenge Texas Director. If you are interested, email me ASAP.
markbarr@wpa.net BTW, race entry fees are free for the Director!

Default We have three Grand Am Cup S4s

Click the image to open in full size.

there are two others Cup cars...one is Scott Hartmann's in California (I believe it is disassembled). It last raced at Mosport in 2001. The other is Joe Blackers ex SCCA GT S4, that last raced at Daytona in 2002. All five of these cars have been through our shop and carry our modified supension pieces...monoballed and spherical pieces.
