Default Same with me on Super Blue...of course the dealer claimed it a "non-warranty" claim

I have since stopped using Super Blue. I tried to get some Castrol SRF at Baer Racing...Baer Brakes? Anyway, they don't have any...and haven't been able to get it for months. I will try OZRacing this time.

John, I still warp rotors at the track...kinda getting expensive.

Default Many people have experienced problems with SuperBlue in A4's

As have I. The first symptom is a squeaky clutch lever. Eventually it leads to a failed clutch slave cylinder (you push the clutch down, and it doesn't come back up). Unlike Steve, I had mine replaced under warranty. :-)

Motul 600 has been working well in the S4, although I'm starting to wonder if I should opt for the better wet boiling point of the Castrol SRF. I've even had a little bit of brake fade with my Alcons (course, it was 100deg out, and my rotors/pads had lots of wear).

Perhaps it's the dye in the SuperBlue that causes problems? Hmmm...

Default StanJ had problems with the non-Blue ATE fluid as well

And we all remember me hanging around the track when my clutch wasn't coming back.

Default For $4/quart, the Valvoline looks pretty damn good!

Here's a clickable URL for the brake fluid comparison:

Default Actually...

Assuming you have an S4 - the one with 5 spark plugs :^) you may not even have a problem as (I beleive) the hydraulic clutch system doesn't recirculate fluid back into the brake fluid reservoir as the newer model Audis do. Therefore, the fluid in the clutch circuit will remain there (unless you bleed it out) and should never see the new fluid. But, to be on the safe side, I wouldn't use it. Also, the blue dye ends up discoloring the reservoir making it dificult (over time) to see the fluid level.

Default After purchasing Corey's A4, I had to get a new clutch master cylinder back up here in WA..

Under warranty.

That was with the SuperBlue in.. I just had them replace it with their OEM stuff for the time being.

Default I was wondering about the ATE 200 gold stuff...

I bought one liter of Blue, and one of gold figuring I'd alternate, and the color change would help when bleeding old fluid out. Except for the color, they are supposed to be the same spec.

When the Super Blue started squeaking I considered changing to the gold since I already had it, but then decided I didn't want to risk it. I wrote off the $10 and bought Motul 600. Looks like I made the right decision!!
