Again showing that the trip computer reports higher miles remaining than realistically expected (ie my calculation; which turns out to be more accurate of a prediction).

Here you can see again how the trip computer is suggesting nearly 600 miles at times, when the reality is less than 500:



yet a simple calculation approach shows a more realistic expectations through the tank. This is based on an assumed total gallons (I've adjusted my estimate to use 19.3 based on the data) and then subtract out the fuel used each time based on the total MPG to that point, and applying the current average MPG from that tank to the fuel remaining in the tank:

I'm now on my 3rd tank (#12) of analyzing this data and they seem to be trending the same. Overlaying them and using tank miles as the x-axis graphs nicely:


I find it interesting - hopefully someone else does as well

I need to come up with something else to collect data on once I lose my interest in this one . I have an idea or two in mind...
