Welcome, etc, and let me congratulate you for filling in your hometown and car! (most people don't and it bugs me...)
First, check for a pinched wire, I bet i have seen five PDS sensor problems caused by incorrect reattachment of the front clip. Also, DeOxit on connectors; if H2O gets in there it can mess them up.. And STFA (Search The Farkin'/Forum Archives) for PDS or parktronic. Anyway, you may not be aware there's a "Vendors" button in the upper right of the page, in there is "audiusaparts", they have invaluable diagrams. For a used part, shokan (sp?) has been getting mixed reviews lately but they have lots (I don't think they are a vendor here at AW). There is a salvage operation in the UK, a8parts.com, they have a forum and even with shipping their used parts are reasonable, I have never heard a complaint about them, either. There is a guy on AW, rgonzal3, who has a D3 front end, but I do not know if D3 sensors are the same as D2. Ciao fer now, Tom

Thanks for all the info, Atomic. I've just filled in my Garage info based on your post above.
It's possible that my "bad" sensor is actually a bad connection (as I mentioned in my post), and I've considered that possibility based on information I've read in the forums. For the record, it's because I spent hours STFA that I was able to isolate the offending sensor and track down the part # information provided in the first post. I'll take the time to trouble-shoot the connection and wiring prior to buying a replacement sensor though. A8Fixer <-- my lot in life |
