Just got mine done yesterday.
Decided to go with the Wincos HCD-30 organic film. Awesome product with 53% solar heat rejection (92% IR) and lifetime warranty. I can literally have full sun at 2 PM hitting the window and I can feel no heat, none whatsoever. Amazing. Film is 30% all around. We're going with ceramic, not so much because of nav/satellite radio concerns (the antennae for those are above the car, I believe), but more to do with the smart key for our Prestige A6.
On my Bimmer, I used SunTek, and it was fantastic (and my Bimmer had portable nav and satellite, so ceramic was important). I was going to go with it for this one as well, but the more I thought about it, the more I decided I'd rather go with Formula One Pinnacle or Huper Optik, just because they have a darker appearance than the SunTek. The Bimmer was tinted in Texas, where there are very loose darkness laws, so I could go with a real dark SunTek. Up here, the limit is 35%, so going with something that comes in close to that but *appears* darker is important. Prob gonna go 30% Formula One, given that HP is sooooo expensive for such diminishing returns. |

Neurobit,
I suggest you do a thorough inspection with contrasting light and sky. I found that my Ceramic film showed lint/other stuff and sporadic dots. Some showed up after 2-3 weeks. I had my tinter do some windows over again. Do you see any lint or anything else between the glass and tint film?.... |

Nope, don't see anything like that. My guy was very thorough. He did the driver and passenger windows three times each because they were not coming out right. Ended cutting them by hand since the plots were a little off and it looks perfect. Thanks, Neurobit |

Got mine tinted last week. Went with the Formula One Pinnacle over the Huper Optik (because the HP rep took over a week to call me back). Went with 15% (limit in Washington is 35).
I was originally a bit concerned about safety, but for some reason visibility looking OUT is almost unaffected, whilst visibility going in gives off that dark appearance I was going for. Not sure how they pull that off. Car looks *fantastic* (brilliant black w/ black interior). The guy I went to said he didn't like the forms that are sent to him for that model because they leave a line before the turn of the glass to the top, so he custom cut all of them to eliminate that problem and create a nice smooth run right to the money spot. $400. |
