We just test drove an A4, more to make sure my wife knew what the base model looked and felt like. Once the dealer knew we were serious about a new S4, he took less than 10min to offer us $1000 over invoice to order a 2013. Now that I've read a few hundred threads here, I realize $200 to $500 over invoice is the better deal.

Other interesting item here is that the dealer followed up with a thank-you email that had my name and my wife's name both listed. Her (unique spelling) name was spelled perfectly. Obviously a credit check to figure that out.

2013 S4 is coming.....now just gotta pick the color.

I find westmont to be incredibly arrogant and lazy. Stay away from Continental audi in naperville also. They are awful. Wanted to order a car and literally they salesman dan made it seem that we were lucky to get a dollar off. walked out and bought at FJ. Great place.
I had a hilarious long-winded exchange of emails with jeff garvey at continental.

Sorry for the delay this Saturday, we have people all over the place selecting cars and going to the Naperville test track to be certain they love the car as we close this month of yet another record breaking month for Audi New and Pre Owned Sales. When we have a frenzy like we do today as we close the month we accept all reasonable offers on our new S4's, even though they are limited in preferred configuration. The Moonlight Blue sounds like a great fit for you.

What Brand/Make, Model auto's do you have in your household now? You may be eligible for incentives that other may not qualify for. I do not want price to stand between us either. What do you have in mind for this new S4? Be sure to let me know what models you have in your household, you do not have to trade-in a car, unless you want to.
me: Hi Jeff,

I am interested in the price you are willing to offer to move this car at the end of the month. Things like the audi loyalty incentive are consumer discounts and thus I am not actually getting a "deal" if the dealer offers me $1500 off, since they are pocketing the money and I would get that same discount at any dealer.

I am shopping around and am interested in what competitive discount the dealer itself is willing to offer me. I do not have a trade-in.

Thanks,

Thank you for making this clear to me that you are shopping price. Since Audi price point is very attractive (given equipment, style, performance, and resale value) we have found that we are priced lower to comparative German manufactured cars.

Since you have expressed interest to purchase the Moonlight Blue metallic/Black interior, Prestige model (top of the line, most limited in supply), with the sports differential, a car that lists at $58,350, you have determined what you feel is fair market value to purchase this car.

You should get the color and equipment that you want. Especially if you have driven the S4, you probably, like me, are amazed that with 333 h.p and all wheel drive that you can get up to 28 miles to a gallon highway driving.

If this is the car you want to buy, I will not let price stand between us. Let me know at what you determined the fair market price that you are willing to pay for this car, if I meet that price, I certainly will. Given factory incentive outside of Audi Loyalty programs has enabled us sell these cars very quickly. All consumer guide pricing take into consideration incentives for pricing as the combine those with no incentive, conquest welcome to Audi incentives, and Audi loyalty incentives, and create an average over the three types of purchases for our region. I anxiously await to as when we agree with your offer we will secure this car and pull it from the market.
I then offered him $500 below invoice with a supplier discount, which leaves the dealer with a respectable profit given it's 2012 and the end of a month, and he replied and kept talking about how he couldn't do that price and how I am extended the "privilege" of purchasing an Audi lol.

I had a few more email exchanges with this guy, embodiment of the sleazy car salesman full of bs

By the way, wanted to give a good word for Audi North Atlanta. Talk to Dominic (sales manager). I needed my car in June instead of August so had to cancel my 2013 order. They got me a 2012 configured the way I wanted it from another dealership 5 hours away, and gave me $600 below invoice on the price with my supplier discount.

Default Invoice includes all options.....

The invoice + X price you are all quoting includes the all-in costs with all the options you want, correct?

So you are taking invoice pricing of packages, options, etc. too?

So it's total invoice + $500 or + $1,000? Not just on 'base' car?

Correct. All of those things become part of the invoice.

Sorry to ask a dumb question, but what's this 'supplier discount' everyone is talking about?

It's a discount that is extended to employees of certain companies that have a business relationship with Audi of America.

This is related to an employee of a company who does business with Audi directly. Audi extends a courtesy discount to it's employees.

You can read about it further on this LINK

I've been communicating with a dealer via email and they told me they had a 2013 S4 coming in within the week. It has a few more options than I want and they want MSRP for it. I also asked about ordering one and they wanted $2,000 deposit and MSRP for it as well.

From reading this thread, it sounds like this offer isn't reasonable at all. I could maybe see MSRP for a car that's arriving soon but MSRP and $2k deposit seems a bit steep for an ordered car.

Thoughts?
