I should clarify why it only took 5 minutes. They were able to reuse the hoses and clamps. So if you can reuse your hoses and clamps then 5 minutes is all it should take. Even with new hoses and clamps that should only add another 5-10 minutes tops.

I do know that dealers go by a book of quoted labor hours for any given job. If the techs can finish it sooner then they get a bonus (not the customer paying less). If you can find an Indy who only charges you actual time needed then you are way ahead of the stealership model.

Where did you buy the part from?

I replaced my N80 valve this weekend. Took 5 mins. remove the electrical connector and the two pipes; and insert onto the new valve.

Interestingly, my light came on when I was close to 1/3 to 1/4 on my tank of gas. Must be something to do with the pressure of the gas tank when gas is at that level.

I have a 05 3.2 and the valve was replaced, seemed to fix the problem but randomly when i let my gas get really low the CEL light would come on. Does it when the temp gets warm only. Work around is to clear the code because nothing is wrong and do not let the gas get too low. I determined if i keep the miles left until empty above 100 miles the problem stays resolved.

just my two cents good luck...
