Dave
Used your link to find the only HD radio in our area, tuned in the station and it was flagged as HD by the MMi. I used the balance/fader controls and everything worked as expected, i. e., all speakers had a strong presence. The source wasnt an obvious stereo broadcast, so I couldn't discern any separation. FYI -- checked on 2011 A8 NWB DB |

Have a new 2012 Audi S5. I have the same problem with my Bang and Olufsen HD radio. I thought I was just getting poor stereo seperation and the surrond sound adjustment didn't seem to have much effect. I guess like you when the HD locks in I loose the stereo. Does anyone have a solution?

Update on my issue: VW seems to be persuaded by my video that something is not right. They're supposedly talking to the supplier of the RNS-850 about it. I should know more this week.
I haven't noticed any issues with any of the other functions of the RNS-850, including Sirius-XM satellite. Everything is in stereo. Satellite drops out a lot if driving where there's a lot of trees but that's always been the case for me on previous cars, not new to this one. Will report back when I know more... |
