Default 2000 Audi Q4 2.8 V6 Questions

I am the proud owner of a 200 Audi Q4 2.8 V6 sedan. As a first car, it is a dream come true. It has 184,000 mi on it but we know the guy who owned before and who meticulously took care of it.

My first question is on the cup-holder. Ah the infamous in-dash cup-holders. Mine is not working properly...anybody know how much it would be to get it fixed? Including labor?

My second question is on the side mirrors. The liquid in them that automatically darkens when headlights hit it is all screwed up. One mirror is half brwn and the other is clouded up. How much would it be to replace those? Would it be better just to get normal mirrors instead of the auto-dimming ones?

My third question is about the seats. Mine has a pretty substantial rip in the drives seat. Any advice on what to do? I think officially fixing it would be way too expensive, so does anybody know a good place where I can find quality seat covers? Preferably just for the bottom cushion....I have one now but I really hate it.

My fourth question is in regards to manually shifting the tiptronic transmission. Is it an issue that the screen between the dials in the dash is faded out? I dan't see anything on it really so I wouldn't know what gear I'm in. I've never actually tried manually shifting but I want to.

My last question is about MPG. I have no idea what it actually is. Anybody know what it should be for this engine? It is a quattro just to clarify.

Thanks for your time, even with all the little problems and quirks with the car it is always a joy to drive.

Ok this is quite embarrassing...I obviously meant A4 in all of those mistakes, not Q4. It is a 2000 and the half of the mirror is brown. Wish I knew how to edit these things....

1. Cup holder is about $50 on eBay. You can do it yourself in 5 mins.

2. Side mirrors are a couple hundred each. Get the OEM replacement. Search on eBay. Or otherwise scout out junk yards in your area.

3. That one is not easy. It's pricy no matter what.

4. You need to fix your instrument cluster LCD screen. Search for module masters ( $180) or else replace the whole cluster for a grand (you know which one is cheaper). Shifting manually is fine. Go by the RPMs in the tach. Plus, the TCU will shift for you even if you don't, it's a fail safe design.

5. MPG can be as high as 26-28 or as low as mid-upper teens. Depends on your driving style. For general reference check out http://fueleconomy.gov

Brand new cup holder:

http://www.audionlineparts.com/parts...icleid=1368109

LCD repair service:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=180873544955

I got my driver seat, repaired by a automotive upholstery shop, cost me $265.00 including labor and material,he was able to match the OEM pattern,100% My interior is 100% mint condition, now.

I'd check local automotive restore and upholstery shops in your area,to repair your seat.

Replacing your torn seat, with one from the junk yard, will only get you in the same situation, your in right now.

Same year, make and model, the seat will rip soon enough, just get it repaired or brand new from Audi.
