Default rear license LED lights

So I had a 2010 B8 and put in the rear license LED lights from superbrightleds.com. I traded that car in for a 2012 B8 manual quattro and now when I install the SAME rear license LED lights it throw the bulb out light. Anyone here experiencing the same problem? Should i just purchase another set from elsewhere?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know much about the LEDs but I just wanted to thank you for trading in your automatic for a manual.

Thanks again

I got these OEM lights and they're awesome - no bulb out warning.

Default half price w/couple of this

http://hidconcept.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=66

Replace the bulbs - use a flat head screwdriver push from left side. Use push force and pull housing from left side. "-" polarity on left, "+" on right. If you put reversed it won't light up.

It took me 1 min. to change to LED bulb. There're 2 photos below explaining the procedure (first pic) and what spring clip holding the the housing (second pic) in place.

Photo 1 : On left side, use a flat head screw driver to push (1) in arrow direction. You need force for a sudden push, at the same time a hook (2) tries to pull the housing out.

Photo 2 : show the spring clip on right side holding that dan thing in place. The screw driver push is have the spring narrows.

Very simple fix. Do what I did...order a 2013, which now come with L.E.D. license plate bulbs standard.

Can I use the geniune LED bulbs for the 2013 in my 2009? or will it give me an error? How much are they?

Funny but true. I know of several people who have traded in for a new model because they needed new tires or some simply maintenance was due.

I think I saw the OEM LED lights listed on an Audi dealer's parts page and the price was around $40. The bigger issue would be that you probably would get error codes by simply swapping bulbs. I would think that the 2013 units would have the proper wiring and resistance for LED bulbs that draw less power so those newer LED bulbs would not have load resistors built in to prevent errors as we would need in 2009s. Just a theory....

No error on dash after I installed the hidconcept's 'error free' 37mm led on my 2012 A4. The price is $12 something x 2, plus shipping.

Yes, you can. There was someone on here and AZ selling them so I bought a set. You have to get or make an adapter between the wiring in the car and the new LED bulb housing.
