Tanger...if you're looking at/talking about the RS4, carbon buildup should not be the first thing you mention. I know that many of the guys on these forums will fill your brain with fear about carbon buildup but it's really nowhere near as big a deal as they make it out to be. You'd think the car was rendered helpless against a honda civic the way people go on.
My car is 35,000 miles old and has never been cleaned. It is bone stock, as it came from the factory with the exception of being on its second set of summer tires. It ran 12.75 @ 108.36 at the local NHRA certified dragstrip last month.
Sure carbon is a pain. Sure it might rob you of some power on a badly carboned up car but it's not enough to greatly influence the performance of the car....and it can be solved with a $100 DIY and about 12 hours of work over a weekend...or $650 at a good shop. No biggie.
