Yes, positive. I've been obsessing between Daytona and Quartz for the last two weeks for my A7 I just ordered. Here's the best picture I took of the Daytona. You can see kind of a greenish hue, but only in very sunny conditions. The Monsoon, which isn't offered on the A7, seemed like more of a flatter, bluish gray to me when I saw them on the lot.

Well, you should see how green Meteor looks in direct sunlight. In fact, it's so green that it doesn't even look like a shade of grey. Maybe they should have called it Meteor Green. LOL

Those are my favorite two colors also. I went with Quartz because I felt that Daytona was just a bit too dark for my taste. Plus, my 4Runner is a darker grey.

I'm leaning towards the Quartz as well, for the same reason. I like the Daytona when the sun is shining, but it's a little to dark otherwise. The Quartz shows off the lines of the A7 so much better, especially when it's cloudy (80% of the time in Chicago). The Daytona really makes the rims pop though.

I'm leaning monsoon as the metallic in the pic doesn't feel as apparent as I think the Daytona does. Had a Daytona RS6 and it changes across the entire range in different light but appears darker than monsoon across the board...I could defend the Daytona side of this discussion though with this pic...as my initial reaction was Daytona on my computer too.Click the image to open in full size.

or not with this one...

or is it?? This pic and the initial pic of the S5 look similar too.Click the image to open in full size.

Like I said earlier....the lighting makes a big difference. So does the fact that we're all looking at these pictures on computer screens. It would be easier to distinguish between the colors if we were actually looking at them right in front of us under the same lighting.

Hey Schumi_Tampa .. that's Monsoon Gray! Just a little lighter than Daytona Grey. I like it.

As the former owner of a Daytona Gray S5 Cab, I can tell you that the paint looks stunning in certain lighting. It even has flecks of magenta in it. However, in not-so-good lighting it is just a dull gray. Had I had it to do over I would have gone with Quartz Gray in a heartbeat. The only thing is, I wanted the Tuscan interior and it went better with Daytona than Quartz. Everyone raves about Daytona gray in the forum, but I'm giving my honest opinion after having lived with it for 13 months. Hope this helps.

That's exactly why I chose Quartz over Daytona. Quartz isn't dull in any lighting. I found Daytona to look great in sunlight and not so great in the shade. The other bonus was that Quartz wasn't a $2500 optional paint color like Daytona.

I chose a lighter metallic (jet blue), purely for the reason of drawing the line out in side. Completely worth it. In any lighting, from full sun to moonless night, it just pops. I visited the dealership a lot at night after work, and found that the darker colors hid the line too much for my taste.

Would highly recommend lighter metallics to anyone wishing the same effect.
