Default Looking for replacement tire advice

I purchased a 2009 A4 3.2 "Premium Plus" (according to the on-line Audi site)with 245/45R17 95H m+S Pirelli as the original equipment tires. It's time to replace them and I can't find anything that suggests what I should look for. I'm totally confused as to why the TireRack site tells me I should have 18" as original equipment. Furthermore, when I do look at 17" Pirelli suggestions, the TireRack infers that I would have had 225's as original equipment.
I'm happy with the performance and just want to replace the tires with an appropriate all-season tire. Any suggestions?

Email Gary directly.

The Michelin's tires are great as are the Conti DWS

There are a few difference sizes that could have come on your A4 in 2009, including 225/50R17, 245/45R17 and 245/40R18. Just be sure to confirm your current size by checking your tire sidewall. Three top all season tire options to consider are the Continental Extreme Contact DWS, the Bridgestone Potenza RE970 A/S, and the Kumho ECSTA 4X.
