Default Help with MMI - just not working!

I own a 2006 Q7 and have been having major probs with MMI - seems i cant get the volume button off mute, wont read cd's, no radio, intermittant jumping, basically no sound at all but visuals all there - HELP! Ive read thro this fab forum and tried some things but nothing, you guys really know ur stuff, well impressed!! Please please can someone help! PS the CD wont read an update - aarrggghhhhh!

it may be that u have a drain for the sunroof leaking,amp for radio is located in rear compartment on passage rear side,its on the side of trim panel where the spare is,pull that out and look in side,its a pain to get out and look in there,but u will see water marks on the amp,or if u can vag com it that would help.or there is the problem with the spill of coke on the mmi unit,and buttons stick

If other control modules fail, it can cause issues with the Data bus. From checking bulletins, there is one saying the cd changer, radio amplifier, telephone transceiver, or audio music interface module are possible culprits. Say to unplug each one and see if symptom disapears. Symptoms include jumping around, not reading cds, no audio, no telephone, no response, freezing, blank out, and more. Good luck, seems to be alot of software updates for the system too. And Water leaks into the trunk where alot of these modules are located.

Thanks guys - I'm going to try ALL these solutions over the next few dys. Dont have a sunroof but will still check this out for any leakage. I'll update you as and when!
