I just love Malibu and the mountains surrounding it. It’s the closest thing we have to Principality of Monaco on the west coast. There are great driving roads in California and many of the gems in the collection are right here in the Santa Monica Mountains. Jay Leno is probably the biggest “Gearhead” in the world and could be driving his amazing collection of cars anywhere. Yet, on many weekends, you usually see him cruising around the curves on exactly the same roads we will be running on the Ocean’s Twelve Rally.
We will have two groups (1 and 2) that are basically touring classes for new people, but we have thrown in some checkpoints to add to the excitement. Then we have the challenging Group X class for the serious competitors. For the first time we will have a new class Group XL. It runs the same course as Group X, but with a “Hints” sheet to explain the tricks. Either way you go, the sights and sound will be memorable. Come out and join us on June 23, 2012. Registration is open from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the Starbuck’s, 26521 Agoura Road. It’s around the corner from the Las Virgenes exit on the 101 freeway. We will collect a little money to pay for some nice trophies. With a little skill and luck, you may be bringing one of them home. In any case, you and have a great day carving up the back roads and will get the same feeling as driving over Alps and dropping into Monte Carlo.
