Default noise coming from transmission area. sounds like bird chirping metalic sounding

took it in to a zf guy last week and had fluid changed and filter cahnged seemed a bit better but still there. The noise is gone whenthe car is cool but as you drive and everything warms up it gets progressively worse. The trans guy thought it might be the from diff. From my discription. At neutral throttle it is gone but accelerate or decelerate and the the noise get really loud. any thoughts besides a complete rebuild.

Default very odd are you sure it is from the drive train?

chirping is usually associated with brake pad wear audible scratchers

Default Could be driveshaft (main) worn out. I replaced mine and chirping went away

Default Driveshaft Replacement

I bought the driveshaft from wholesale import parts www.wholesaleimportparts.com for around $400 plus $100 core. I had a local Indy do it for me for $200

He dropped the exhaust and it was pretty straightforward according to his mechanic. I had clicking and squeaking that was driveline speed related and occurred upon light throttle lifting/coasting-- and I had some clunking at times too. Right before I had it changed, I was getting clicking every driveshaft turn while slowly backing up or driving forward.

Dammit, think I have this problem too, Im getting the strangest bird like whistling sound on deceleration only. At first I thought it was the roof but when I opened the windows is definately front left of the car. No noise when accelerating, braking or idle, just when coasting!?
