TimU - can you give us an update on how the Q is doing with the lowered settings? I'm going to pick up a VAG-COM and want to lower as well.

Any concerns with tire wear, alignment, suspension parts, etc?

Thanks

i didnt use vag com, but i used lowering links.

you need to get the alignment checked after lowering.

i got mine done, it cost 85 GBP for a go on the four wheel laser alignment machine.

the lowering had put the camber out to 3 degrees!!

the operator was shocked just how far out from the original set-up lowering the car had made it.

anyway all good now, so should see better handling and improved tyre wear.

i would get an alignment done if you lower more than .25"... if not what you saved on alignment will be wasted on new tires. you dont have to be a genius to figure out which costs more. several times more.

Just got reply from VCDS, apparently they are not sure if the new MY12 Q7 be able to be adjusted with their program.

Has anyone tried it with late model Q7?

Thx in advance.

I had posted this in a thread a few months back does anyone one know if these speeeds can be adjusted?

Is there a VAG-COM tweak to get it to stay at the lowered suspention settings of dynamic, according to the manual over 80 it drops and then again over 100 mph, in my neck of the woods those speeds are just crazy, can you lower those speeds by 20 or 30 mph or something?

Does the Q7 lower at certain speeds (80 & 100) across all years, if so what effect would that have if you have all ready lowered the car, say 25mm?
Is there room for this to happen still?

cheers steve

I am not sure about all years but the 2012 S-Line does, I got the data on the speeds from the manual, if you go into the MMI and in Dynamic mode you will see the level in a bar graph that changes with the speed, I was looking to lower the speed slightly as I will never hit 100 and not often 80, so wanted to drop these say buy 10 or maybe 20 mph.
