Audi Symphony II usb input

hello to everyone
2006 A3 owner here, and a newbie for good measures.....
Please can some kind person point me in the right direction to allow me to play my mp3 collection via usb through my symphony II audio system.I beleive i am correct in asuming that once installed i loose the capability of playing any cd's.

Something like the Dension Gateway 300 should work for you; it wires into your external CD changer interface and the Symphony headunit, and will give you Aux & iPod inputs in addition to USB.

You also may want to look at some of the cheap Chinese MP3 interfaces on eBay, if you don't need the aux/iPod functionality.

well heres the thing...
i have decided to change the unit completely
and i have done a little googling!!
i am not really sure if this will work .
what i want to acheive is usb input/play cd's and listen
to the radio.
i already own a tomtom (bought before the car)
i want to install..

really my qusetion is what type of leads would be required to convert the harness to existing and is there any special audio leads i need to get the four speakers and sub working...
