Default new member, old owner just saying hi

Considering a move to an S5 so registered today for the forums.

My very first car was a Copenhagen blue 4000S way back in 1988 so it *really* brought me back seeing this subforum and looking at these threads and all of your beautifully maintained cars.

Just awesome that these guys are still on the road. Kudos to everyone that keeps them going! Sometimes I wonder where mine ended up

Classic Audi are pretty cool, but you sure have to find the right car to fool around with. pretty hard to undo 20+ years of neglect on cars from this era.

I bought a clean 87 4000Q back in 1995 until 2001 when someone ran into it while it was parked. took me 11 years to find another car, (the red 84 in the post below) and that car is in better overall shape than my 87 was when I got it back in 1995. I am really excited to finish sorting that 84 out and get it in top notch mechanical shape to go with its time capsule looks. Right now I am waiting on some replacements for two of those odd shape vacuum hoses that fail and wreak havoc on the idle circuit, and a intact master cylinder reservoir. I want to drive the car so bad, and it kills me to have it just sitting there, especially after all the suspension and front work has been completed on it.

My wife had an 84 4000 FWD 4 door sedan that was a light blue metallic color. that was really nice car as well --it got run into when parked too! that thing got amazing gas mileage.

Guess I will have to be careful where I park my new 84.
