Default 245x50 tires on your A6

Hi all this is my first post along with my first Audi.
I have a 2002 A6 quattro 3.0 5atm, nice car but crappy handling. Before I put some coilovers on to lower it I want to replace the tires only. I have the 16x7 wheels with 215x55 tires. Looking at various wheel/tire calculators I would like to know if anyone has 245x50 tires on their A6? If so, any clearance issue after lowering? Yes these will be summer tires only and no I don't want to upgrade to 17 or 18 or bigger.

245/50R16 is only slightly taller in overall diameter, but I'm unsure of how it will fit with the original factory wheels. We've fit 225/50R16 and 235/50R16 with no problem, but haven't tried anything larger.

I have them on my S6 (245/50-16). Note that my rims are 8" wide - 7" is tight for such a wide tire.

Circumference is + 2.5%

The upside is that you get terrific resistance to damage from potholes, etc.
