Default Air Filter maintenance 08 TT Roadster

Just purchased this 08 Roadster in beautiful condition. I prefer to do my own general maintenance. Trying to get the plastic engine shroud lifted to get to air filter and since I do not want it broken, cannot see how this is done. Does it just pull upward? Is their some trick here? I understand it lifts from the front but many have warned me on getting it open yet I can't get a clean answer from mechanics on how to get it!! Appreciate any suggestions! I have pulled on it steady but gently but without success. Screwed or hidden clipped down perhaps? Can only see one fastener in a rubber grommet under the left front side facing the engine but will not budge. Looks like a bolt in the grommet but very difficult to reach. Thanks!
