Default Could this be causing my check engine light?

I recently bought a 2002 audi a6 4.2 v8. Sorry if I come off as a newb Im new to the Audi game.

When I put a obd2 scanner to the car I get these codes: P1411 and P1423. We have checked the vacuum lines and they all seem fine but I did notice that a rod on the change over valve is broken, and the valve control arms seem to require a lot of force to move them by hand. I plan and taking them apart to loosen them up but would this have to do with the codes Im getting? I noticed they are tied into the vacuum line system but I took it to a small independent vw/audi shop and they said it wouldn't fix the problem Im having.

I just ordered a vag-com. I'm waiting for it in the mail if its required. Thanks!
