They are good bikes, they aren't high performance bikes so I'm not sure what you consider "doggish." I think they are great value bikes too. You can always seem to pick them up for a good price and basically turn around and sell it in a year for the same amount.
I think they make great starter bikes too because of how they ride, That one looks really nice from the pic, very clean. |

w/ 22k in perfect mechanical shape, not so perfect visual shape for $800. They are great starter bikes. If you don't like it, i imagine you should have no problem selling it for at least $1800.

1. If this is your first bike, don't. Please don't wreck an irreplaceable classic.
2. Your low end issue are most likely due to plugged low speed jets. Did it start hard, and need a lot of choke? 3. The bike has hydraulic valves and shaft drive. It is as close to maintenance free as you can get. 4. If it as good as it looks in the pic, and you don't want it, lemme know. |

personally, I think they are getting near collector status. If the bike is good condition, take care of it.

This would be a great introduction into the classics. Don't expect it to be like a modern sport bike though. I absolutely love classic Hondas, so they always get my approval... however, at that price unless you plan to keep it pristine as the collector that it is, I would move on and find like a cheap CB750 or KnightHawk. If you can locate a CB900F, pick one up; powerful, smooth and beautiful looks.
Joey T is dead on, the bike is pretty damn turn-key. And the doggy issue is a tuning problem. These bikes have 4 carbs so syncing and tuning are extremely important. If you get it her, change the plugs and wire caps, re-sync the carbs and clean em and she should pull much harder. Good luck sir
