Default New here...need Q7 tire advise!!

So i have a 2008 Q7 s-line 3.6....my dunlops on the rear are done for. I need to buy new tires and want to buy all four. my question to you all is, should i pay the $350-$400 per tire in the 21" size or opt to buy new 22" wheels and tires?
The 21" tire size is just so expensive that if i buy the 22" wheel and tire package im looking at it would initially be around $800 more that just the four 21" tires. Assuming i can sell my stocks, i can recoup some of my money. Also, down the line when i would need new tires again, i would be buying a more popular and less expensive tire size.
Another reason i am asking this is because i feel the 22" wheel and tire will "fill" my wheel well a bit better and leave less of a gap between body and tire.
Excuse my noobness on this, this is my first post, and i need help.
Also, what do the stock 21" s line wheels sell for these days?

I am surprised that a 22" tire is less expensive than a 21" but it may be that the 21" size is unique. That will change as more cars are produced and mfrs enter that market. A 22" rim might be more harsh. Also many rims are soft. I can not tell you all the postings I have seen of people with bent aftermarket rims unless one goes with a major manufacturer and forged rims. Our rims are very tough as are Hartmann. BBS makes some very strong rims too. For the other brands you will need to do some research.

Perhaps going now to 20 inch whelks and a -1 tire size would be an even less expensive option. As well, larger rim sizes are increasing your unsprung weight, degrading performance.
