I replaced my Sirius unit with an XM one this weekend and it seems to be working perfectly. When I brought it to the dealer when the Sirius unit wasn't working properly, the tech said he hooked it up to their diag machine and it checked out all clear. I would assume the unit they use is similar to the VAG-COM and simply gives an OK or NG kinda look, sorry I'm not too traversed with the VAG-COM interface.

Glad exchanging the Sirius module for XM worked for you too. VAG-COM said my Sirius module functioned properly also, but it was the only obvious item to replace. Has worked perfectly since.
