Default Soft top close process won't finish

Hello, I bought a 2006 A4 B7 convertible and have a problem with the roof. At first, id did not work at all, so i made a roof reset by manualy folding it to the roof and pulling it out to the "closed" position. It did not help. No reaction for roof button press. So i folded the roof again into the trunk manualy. Then when i switch on the ignition and try to close the roof (come out over the car), the roof will start the proccess - the metal part of the trunk will open, the roof will go out but then the front part of the roof fall down itself to the front window (but don't lock there, just sits at the top of the front window frame) and the rear part of the roof will fall down too (the trunk metal lid is still open). Then when you try to push the roof button to any possition, it makes crazy things. Do you have any clue what to do? I made a 1:35 mins video with this procedure, if you could take a look at it, it would be great. Thanks a lot for any help/advice in advance and sorry for bad english. You can find the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNTyiERgElg

Was the top behaving this badly when you checked the car out prior to buying it? If so, did you ask the seller about the problem?

These tops feature a multitude of sensors and motors that all have to work together properly, in sequence, to get the top to open or close correctly. A malfunctioning sensor and/or motor would be the first thing I'd suspect, after seeing that video.

Although it began to rain later on, Audi prepared the Auto Union Type C for the track, which took more than one hour. We could hear the engine warm up through the whole valley. Everybody was quiet, waiting for the car. The valley was the church, and the engine was a prayer with sixteen voices, praying about motorsport. And the smell from the exhaust gases of the sixteen-cylinder engine hung in the air.

I did not checked the car this way, car was out of battery. Is there any way to check senzors via VAG-COM and test individual senzors and motors? THX

I don't know. I had a different type of top problem once with my Cabriolet, and I just took it to the dealer, where they recognized the problem immediately, without needing any other diagnosis.
