Bank 2 sensor 1

i have the following codes p0173, p0159, p0150 and p0301. these seem to point to the drivers side pre cat O2 sensor. could this faulty sensor cause the engine to skip or missfire?

No, you have somthing wrong with the engine running, missfire or really rich or lean sounds like. the mixture is thrown WAY off from either a missfire, running condition, issue, ect. And causes the o2 sensor to max out, the ecu cannot pull or add any more fuel to compinsate, so it throws codes. Might have a stuck open or bad injector, burned valve, fouled plug, bad wire, ect...

I put in new plugs and a new set of NGK plug wires, now it runs like a champ!

On a side note. i marked the coil pack to the corresponding plug before i pulled them off. By chance i also looked it up in my Haynes manual and they had it wrong. its a good thing to follow the wire from plug to coil and mark them before they are pulled off. Also part of the old wire clips stayed attached inside the coil connection. It was tough to dig out on the car so i unpluged the connector and unbolted the coil pack broght it inside and i was able to get the old clips out without breaking that brittle looking plastic coil pack.

Awsome, glad you were able to fix it. There was no oil in the spark plug tubes right? Or oil on the spark plug wire boots? If so definatly need to replace the valve cover gaskets or it will ruin the wires again.

yes there was oil in the spark plug wells. i have a valve cover gasket set that i wanted to put in, but the car belongs to my daughter and she need to get to work. i told her i need it back so i can replace the valve cover soon.....
