Thanks for first look, shame about the manual.

My dealer keeps asking to buy my stick A4 back ,but I keep telling them they just don't sell anything I want anymore to replace it.

Eight speed auto, not seven. And one of the nicest auto-boxes I've ever driven.

I've acutally driven the 8 speed tip, and it's nice for someone who doesn't want to row their own, but even paddle shifting with it is completely obnoxious. you have to sift through 8 gears, and you can't skip any. The Tip shifts slower than a stick and if you have to (or want to) skip a gear, you're just going to get frustrated.

BMW has already signaled that it will continue offering a 3 series wagon with a stick when the F31 wagon comes over next year. I don't see why Audi can't seem to do the same.

The more I see of the new "softroad" the more I like it and could see buying one, but it's just too small.

As another one that was there I can safely say the car is beautiful from the outside and in. Those Allroad Drivers complaining about space should go to Europe and they will soon realize that the A4 Allroad is actually pretty big for the norm there. Buy a trailer hitch, get a bike rack off the hitch or a Rocket Box. Why settle for 17 MPG on a large vehicle when you can have "sport" and a hatch with enough room for 4-5 easily. I drive a TDI Sport Wagon now and love it. I can't go back to those days of 17-21 MPG. Gas prices are going up!

Should be a tickle less than the current A4 Avant as the Allroad carries a few more pounds.

I know it's not the same vehicle, however I have the 2009 A4 sedan with the 2.0T motor with the APR tuning set for 91 octane and I average in the mid-20s around town and low 30s on the highway. Maybe you can extrapolate from those figures.
