Default idle control

hello everyone im new to the audi world i own an 87 5000cs turbo quatro and just bought a 99 a6 2.8l 30v. the problem is with the a6 i replaced the head gaskets and timing belt water pump and thermostat. had the car running briefly then left it sit for two weeks with the battery discontected. just got a chance to work on it again and now the thing wont start without me giving it a little gas also around 1500 rpm it sputters drove it around the driveway and it wont go above the 1500 rpm range. i dont have vagcom software just a basic obd2 scaner it comes up with engine idle speed error. when i do the live data display it says 0 for the tps position voltage. this was not a problem before i let it sit for two weeks without the batt connected. please advise on what i need to do to get it running corectly. thanks in advance for any help

yea you need vagcom man, i have had the same thing happen, just re adapt the throttle body with the software and be on you way. Be sure all fuses are good, throttle body is plugged in, the throttle plate isnt blocked or dirty. And that the throttle cable (if it has one, some do, some dont) isnt binding. if the re adapt doesnt work, the throttle body somehow went "bad"

Well I tried to do the throttle adaption and it wouldn't work so I tested the voltages from the wiring harness and they agree with the info from alldata . Is there anything else I could do to verify its the throttle body before I order one???
