I think I may have the same problem w/ my 05 S4 upon startup. Not every time, but marbles for a few seconds after it turns over. It sounds like something is sloppy in the cylinders. The sound goes away quickly and doesn't come back until the next start, but again, not every time i start the car. Any luck determining the problem?

Mine does that too and i can't figure whether it's my JHM flywheel chattering or the old marbles in the engine noise... I did see a youtube video of a guy changing the cam chain tensioners himself with the motor in the car. it's somewhere on this forum.... I have heard that this rattly-cam chain is harmless until it gets REALLY bad.
