Default 1997 audi a4 1.8t mods?

i have a 1997 audi a4 1.8t standard tranny and i want to do some performance mods to try to squeeze more power out of it only problem is im only 17 so i dont have alot of money and actually almost none right now so im looking for some good parts like a chip i saw that wired to the mass air flow and i was just trying to find someone that is alot more familiar with these cars than me. and i have 3 people that have taken these cars apart so i have people that know what they are doing so please help me
