Default Loss of sound

Luckily this has only happened twice and resolved its self, but none the less....The Q had been running for a bit (running errands) when the radio sound just cut out. It took me stopping, turning off the car and starting at a later time (hours) then the sound was back.

A few months later, after going to the store, then getting back in the car, I started the car with no sound. Turned the nav on to see if it was talking and it was silent as well. So the radio/mmi/ipod sound went out. Got home from the store turned the car off and was about to pull the fuse panel off when i decided to start it again, and magically the sound was back again...

Anyone else with this gremlin? PS i have the B&O w nav.

We had that same issue a week ago...drove over to get something to eat no radio, came back to start it up and the radio worked again.

It is really interesting that this happens. I had an '07 Escalade that would go silent about once a month. The screen would show the CD track, radio station, etc. A restart solved the problem.

My new Range Rover did this one time. I could hear a background hiss though.

The wife said that the Q did it one time as well.

The same bug showing up from 3 different vehicle manufacturers is a real coincidence. Maybe there are some components shared in the amps or something. I know that the GM and Land Rover share DENSO products. Not sure if the Audi does or not.

I posted the same issue on the Canadian Audi forum back in December. I have a B+O system that lost all sound completely. Turns out bad B+O power amp which was replaced under warranty, only had about 1000 miles on the vehicle. I noticed the sound did cut out off and on for a few weeks before it cut out for good. Audi did have to order amp from Germany (according to the tech). Good Luck.
