The worst thing about it is, I spoke with the RCMP today and he told me that the Neon had half bald all-season tires. A small investment in proper snow tires would probably have avoided this situation entirely. Very sad.

Wow. I'm sorry to see that, VERY glad to see you are OK.

Goes to show how safe these cars are, this is the 3rd or 4th C4 I've seen totaled where there were minimal injuries to passengers.

Just after seeing what was left of your car my first thoughts were "holy ****". I can't believe how catastrophically the neon's safety systems failed. On a car like that grip is your best and only line of defense; with nearly bald tires they never had a chance.

Its tempting to color the whole situation brown and call it ****. But I implore you to try and find something in it that makes you live a better life. Find something that makes it so these two people didn't die in vain. If you need counseling over this one, get it.

Yikes, glad to hear that you and the pup made it through. My lab mix rides with me every single day, and it's honestly one of the biggest things I'm worried about. Some guy crossing the line and putting the pup in a world of hurt.

In my opinion, Speedtek should be angry as hell that the owner of the Neon was too cheap-assed to have either a) at least good all season tires or b)proper winter tires. By failing to equip their car properly, it was as if they were running around with a loaded gun with their finger on the trigger, just waiting to trip and "oops" shoot some one.

If ANY good should come out if, it should be a law like Quebec's that makes winter tires mandatory, get this, IN THE WINTER!!!

Speedtek did nothing wrong. That said, there still could be the need for counselling, just to talk it through and confirm that he did nothing wrong. (And no "if only, I had...") thoughts.
