Default New B8 A4 Ad Campaign kicks off today.

The new commercial is a smack right to MB. I think the commercial is fanstastic. See for yourself. Progress is Beautiful is the name of the campaign.

Default Re: New B8 A4 Ad Campaign kicks off today.

Very nice... when should the first new A4s come in to dealers? And will they send a bunch of them, or will it be like the A5 where production is slow at first, but then speeds up?

I hope its slow as first, because I know the A4 is a staple car for Audi, and I don't want to have a bunch of cars driving around with LED DRLs, such that the ones on my incoming S5 become common place, and not something that moves heads once people see it (hell, I even almost freak out when I see those LEDs in the distance... they are so hot!!!). This also leads me to another question, will the Xenons and LED DRLs be standard on the 2.0 and 3.2, only one of them, or neither? If its optional in at least one of the two models, then is it a standalone option, or is it in a package, like a technology or luxury package? I would like them to not be standard on either, and only available if someone orders the S Line pack, and the tech pack, which I doubt is the case. Oh well, hopefully not many people will have A4s with LEDs for most of the 3 years I will be leasing my S5 for, if I ever get it, lol.

Default All of the cars will have this in the future, it will be Audi Signature

The A4s Premium plus and Prestige in both 2.0 and 3.2 will have LEDs, if the car does not have Xenons it will not have the LEDs...

Default Nice, but it should have simply started with the MB and ended with the A4. The switch was lame

Default Re: The dealer demos were released today, The car does not officially go on sale

Funny... that is exactly one month before my S5 comes in, if I decide to keep it. As I said, hopefully it will take some time before the LEDs become commonplace. I am guessing it would be at least a year or two before you start seeing them almost daily. Personally, I feel that the LED DRLs should only be in S models and S line models, which would increase the demand of these more profitable models. The rest of the models would get Xenons, but no LED DRLs. Its disappointing that Audi has made these LED DRLs their version of BMWs Angel Eyes, instead of isolating them to high performance R and RS models. One of the biggest reasons why I am getting the S5 is the LEDs, and their exclusivity. As I mentioned previously, whenever I see one coming towards me (which has only happed 3 times in the past year, 1 R8, 1 A5 and 1 S5), I get a tingling sensation, especially if the car is a dark color like deep sea blue, meteor grey or black. Because the A4 is such a popular car, I feel that the headlight integrated LED DRLs on the S/A5, R8 and TT-S, will lose their unique look and effect on people who see them. This, among other things, like Audi lowering the S5 residuals by 5 points in one day, and the tons of common features on BMWs and Benzs which are missing on the S5 (like folding mirrors, a good audio system, hard drive based navigation with a juke box, lane recommendation and 3d graphic, which is coming soon but probably not within the next 6 to maybe 12 months, navigation with traffic, which isn't coming to the new MMI in the US, rear electric windscreen, heated and cooled seats, no SOS/On Star/BMW Assist or anything close to it, which has been a life saver for me and my family, and so many more things that Audi just looked over, including many options available on the S5 in Europe, like 20 inch RS4 rims, hill hold assist, Audi lane assist, ect.), which is causing me to consider getting a E92 335 xi over the S5. Even though you see the 335 coupe everywhere, it is pretty much a better car in every way compared to the S5 except for maybe looks, interior and exterior, as well as its ability in the snow, which as an xi, isn't bad at all, and probably is at least comparable to quattro. The BMW will also save me 10k in my lease, is faster stock, and with a 1500 dollar mod, can get almost 440 HP, and still use less gas than the S5, and all service is free.

I know this is an Audi forum, and I love Audi cars (I have been on the list for the S5 since Jab 10 '09, and my dad has been on the list for the R8 since Nov '09) but the car is seriously lacking in many features, some of which have become commonplace in cars that cost half of what an S5 costs. I still think I am bordering towards getting the S5, but I know I will be disappointed when I am in a traffic jam, and I didn't know about it because unlike iDrive, the nav lacks the ability to find traffic and direct your route around it, or if I need to ask a question about something wrong with my car while driving and I can't unless I have my phone on me, or if I lock my keys in the car and instead of calling Audi up to unlock it, I am going to have to get a taxi home so I can get my key and bring it back, or if someone steals my car, I have to relay on old fashion police methods, instead of calling Audi and having them shut down the engine and tell the police where it is, or say if I get into a serious accident where there is little to no cell coverage, or I don't have my cell, if I don't get help soon enough, I could very well die sitting in my car, where I would be saved if the local police were automatically informed as my car called them because the airbags went off, and informed them of my need of medical attention and the exact location of my car. Oh well, here is to future updates and mods! I think I will make a separate thread in the future to see if anyone shares the same complaints as I do, and to hopefully find out why Audi is so woefully behind in terms of technology versus its Bavarian and Jap competitors.

Default My S5 came with automatic folding mirrors, Bang & Olufsen sound system.

My doors will not lock from the outside with the key inside. I can re-route the nav if needed. Face it; you do not want an Audi.

Default Notice the V-6 is still a dog

Check out the torque: The 2.0L generates 258 ft-lbs while the 3.2 L has less- 243 ft-lbs. The 2.0 is only 0.2 s slower to 60 mph! This re-confirms my running suspicion that that V-6 is not worth the 3 K extra. Anyone want the 2.0 in the A5?
