Default I may need to sell my allroad and mortgage my life so that....... (kind of long)

I can go back and possibly buy an R8 through European Delivery. ;-)

WOW! what an incredible experience these last few days. First of all we were picked up at the Munich airport by our Audi driver and "whisked" off to Ingolstadt (about 55 minutes north of Munich) in an A8L W12 averaging about 100 mph, which was a nice way to set the tone for the next few days. Then Monday we took delivery of my wifes new Q7 on.

First off we toured the factory and were given a first hand experience into what it actually takes to make an Audi. After that, lunch in the Avus Restaurant where they put out a very nice "spread". (everything is complimentary for the day.......everything!). Then we took delivery of the Q7 in the Delivery Center where others are also taking there deliveries. Afterwards, a tour through the Mobile Museum where they have an excellent variety of cars and motorcycles that take you through the history of Audi.

Second day we were there, we did Audi Drivers day. We picked a couple of different tours to take in the morning to see some different things and then were handed the keys to an S8 around 11:00 and were told to please bring the car back by 6:00 with a full tank.

We came back around 5:50 and I can say with personal assurance that it feels rock solid at 242 kph (about 150 mph). That V10 is one hot engine. We found a very, very wide open stretch of the autobahn and let the S8 stretch its legs a little.......in fact, the wife wasn't even scared, (she is usually back handing me whenever I'm going over 80 on the freeway)

I have to say I'm more impressed with the Q7 than I thought I would be. We test drove it a few times before we purchased, but after spending 4 hours in it today (drove to Prague) it handles much more like a sporty car than I remembered. (it's not an S4 by any means)

Anyways, just thought I would share and that after we break in the Q7 a little more we plan on trying to find it's top speed (130 mph speed limited I think)

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my hands on any accessories I was hoping to pick up.......ash tray, wood shift ****, and such. Everything like this would need to be special ordered and would need a couple days to be delivered to the the Audi Forum and we didn't have time to wait around. The Audi gift shop and Museum shops were nice thoughand pretty much had all the apparel, books, and toys you could want. I wasn't able to get the AMI chord as well, that will be shipped and should arrive sometime around Christmas.

just a little eye candy I saw when we were at the Audi Forum:
