Assume RS-TT comes to US & it matches up price-wise with Cayman S perfectly. Why the TT?

There is another 4 seater alternative.....
<center><img src="http://www.channel4.com/4car/media/motorshows/2008/british/lotus-evora/03-large/lotus-evora-f3q-s.jpg"></center><p>...if you don't mind a 280hp Toyota engine and a weigth of around 3,000 lbs, and 0 to 60 in a little over 5 seconds.
European prices have been announced (link below) and without VAT taxes, I think it will be $60,000 give or take for the 2+2 version.<ul><li><a href="http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f170/lotus-evora-launch-edition-announced-full-specs-released-69537/">Evora Launch at Geneva</a></li></ul>

if you're TRULY buying a Porsche for the right reasons...
you wouldn't be thinking about whether it makes you look like a d-bag or not.....
i've driven a couple Caymans and i LOVE it....amazing car to drive. I enjoyed it more than any 911 i've driven (only driven a couple).
as for the TTRS...i can't really say, until i drive it and know more about it.

I DID own a Cayman S before the TTS and here is why I got rid of it.
Phoenix-
BTW, what you are about to read can be confirmed on CaymanClub.net by many, many others who have the same experience. These are in no order in particular, but they are all very irritating none the less:
* "Sonic boom" The clamshell style hatch on nearly every Cayman I ever drove in makes an annoying sonic boom anytime the car hits a speed-bump or pothole. Google it up, its bad.
*No OEM iPod connectivity (not a big deal, but annoying)
*Clutch is very soft, nearly sloppy IMO
*ALL interior panels rattle and shake and it's a well know issue according to an overwhelming majority on the P-Car forums.
*Tight turning radius (as in u-turns/3pt turns) yields an ugly clunking noise as well as front wheel tire hop as it looks for footing.
*RWD is awesome, but quattro really is awesomer.
*Every clamdick with exhaust on a pre-2000's civic wants to race you to see if "they can beat a Porsche". In general you'll notice people drive like snausage-cheese around you, cutting you off and everything else because they are hating on you for having a what they perceive as a nicer car than whatever they drive! I never got that in any of my other cars. It was Porsche phenomenon.
*Most Porsche owners (not the forum using diehards) are asspipes who are super stoked on themselves, so even if you are the coolest dude ever, you have to deal with that stigma that the normal person has towards you, as a P-Car owner.
*The car does not feel as inspired as a MK TT
*That configuration for a mid engine in the back seat creates inconsistent ambient temps in the cabin even WHILE using the auto feature on climate control. Your back stays warm to the point of sweaty, and your front is cool?
No thanks man, not a long roadtrip.
Some of these views are fact, some are opinion but the bottom line is that the TT is a superior car in terms of fit/finish and build. I do miss that exhaust note though...
Both of my old rigs before trade in/lease return:
