Default How does S mode work?

Just got my TT a few days ago. Im a bit confused with the S mode. What exactly is it and how does it operate?

Default put it in S and go much faster....

it wont shift till it hits max rpms, around 7k.

That's not correct.

S mode is a much more aggressive setting for the automatic transmission.

It _will_ shift well before redline if you are not giving a lot of throttle.

It will also downshift much more aggressively in order to keep the revs up.

(been experimenting now that i've hit about 1200 miles).

manual mode won't shift until redline.

Default S mode is for full throttle IMO and it does go to red line then...

which makes it much more fun to drive that way. When I want to go easy I put it D and get great MPG.

Plus previous post was a quick and easy one not meant to be detailed. MPG go D fun go S.
