Default chip question for 2.0 turbo

first off im a complete newbie. first time owning a german car. always had chevy V8's. i just picked up a 2006 audi a4 with the 2.0 turbo. which chip is best to get? ive done some searching and found APR chips. are they any good? the car is brand new like 30 miles, how long do u think i should wait before installing a chip. a buddy of mine said wait till over 10,000 miles, that sounded like overkill to me. what yall recommend? i dont know to much about turbo'd engines, and the website said to expect 40+ horsepower increase, is this really so? is that all i need just a chip? what other basic add ons do you recommend, and does anyone have any audi specific proformance parts website they recommend. thanks.

Default APR is much better than just 'good'...

in my opinion it's the standard that other tuners are jugded, with no known bugs. When you ask if 40+ hp gains are really possible, yes, most tuners meet those numbers but the smoothness of stock drive-ability is also important. If any tuner has bugs to work out it is GIAC (unsolved fuel pump issues). I haven't heard anything bad about REVO. If you go with APR you'll not be disappointed.

Default Re: APR AND NO PROBLEMS

Please be more specific you can't just make those allegations with out any specific issues to back them up. APR is the gold standard. I have it and I love it.

Ive Had both Revo and APR thus Far , THe revo puts APR to shame as far as power and smoothness.

Default Glad that you are happy with Revo...

it was my second choice for my own ECU upgrade. Although I doubt that the differences between Revo and APR are enough for one to put the other 'to shame'. I too am very happy, with APR.

Personally I'd wait until 5K or your first oil change before getting a performance software upgrade.
