got a new battery in my just purchased a4 and it reset my radio, so its in safe mode. I unfortunately didn't get the manual or any literature on the car other than the sirius system that was installed, but i was wondering if there are any tricks or ways i can find the code to my stereo so i can unlock it other than go to the dealer which i will do if i must but i gotta work tomorrow and i'd like my tunes back...
Some info its a 1998 A4 Quattro 2.8 with the bose system if any of that matters if there is no easy way except go to the dealer i will but if anyone has found a trick please let me know Thanks Willis

There is no indication of the code anywhere except in your manual

Originally, the radio code came on a perforated tear-out card in the radio manual. It's a four digit printed number in a 1/4" font. The new owner was told to remove the card and keep it in a safe place. Some owners or dealers MAY have
taped that card into the trunk near the main info sticker in the spare tire well or elsewhere in the vehicle. But the code was NOT put in the trunk on any label or elsewhere in the car by the manufacturer. The dealer who originally sold the car may have the code on file. However, if that dealer transferred the car to another dealer to sell, it's unlikely that the first dealer will keep any records on it in my experience. Maybe they can tell you the name of the second dealer, maybe not. Vehicles transferred between dealers seem to fall through the record keeping cracks. Any dealer can get the code for you by pulling the radio and getting its serial number. With that serial number, they can get the code from AoA. That's what they charge $80 for. VAG-com cannot determine the code, even with the radio serial number. A dealer may get the code for you for free if they feel like it, particularly if you're having other work done there. They might also do it for free if you pull the radio and get the serial number yourself.
