A4 2.0T New Car Break-In Question

I was curious if anyone could provide some advice for how to drive a new A4 2.0T to break the engine in properly. I looked through the owners manual, but did not see any advice for the break-in period. As I only have 125mi on the car, I would like some advice. I imagine this might have been covered before, but nothing asked, nothing gained.

This is what worked for me with my B5 and current B7:

I spent the 1st 100 or so miles doing hard accelerations and decelerations...doing most of this between 2nd-4th gears and never topping 5000 rpm. Then spent plenty of time on the freeway varying my speed a bit (50, 70, 60, 80, etc). I refrained from using the cruise control until after 1000 miles or so.

I'm currently at 5000 miles and doing well as far as performance and fuel consumption (32-35 highway) is concerned. My B5 did a bit better on consumption (34-36), although an argument can be made about the different engines and vehicle weight.

Engine brake-in is important... Regardless of what some Bozos that tell you to "drive it like you stole it". I guess those are the ones that are leasing the car.

Proper engine bake-in is accomplished in the first few hundred miles. Basically what you are trying to accomplish is to make sure that the rings sit properly on the cylinders.

This happens when your engine is decelerating with some load. I other words, accelerate your as you would in 3rd gear or so, take it to 4500-5000 rpms and then get your foot off the gas. Let the engine slow the car down. If you have a Tip, place the transmission in manual or lower gear to accomplish this.

Actually, you manual has a section engine break in.
I don't know the pages but it's there.
Basically, don't exceed redline, don't drive at a one steady speed, no full throttle starts and redline runs.
Start increasing top engine speed and vehicle speed after 600 miles. By 1000 miles it says it's all good.

I don't follow the bean counter break in. I follow the more aggressvie approach. I don't drive it "like I stole it", whatever that means as I've never stolen a car. I do drive it aggressively.
I hit redline, SLOWLY, in 1st and 2nd and as much of 3rd as possible. So, I don't use full WFO throttle to get to redline as fast as possible. I go with part throttle steady accel to redline, then shift, and go to next gear. I also do the 1st gear to redline and then off the gas and let engine braking bring the engine and car speed down, then do 2nd and 3rd.
I do this a few times during the first couple hundred miles.
Then, I do faster more throttle to red line accels.
By 500-600 I'm ready to drive it as God inteneded, with enthusiasm.

I also mind the brakes break in and tires. The manual does give some good advice on that as well.
Remember along with engine break in, break in is occuring in the transmission, brakes, tires, AC, transfer case, axles/bearings, etc...
